Mehmet Ali Çalağan is my uncle; My father's brother.. My father passed away in January 2022. Now we lost my uncle Mehmet. When he was only 14 years old, he set off from the Körkan Village of Bingöl, one of Turkey's Eastern Anatolian Provinces, to Istanbul, worked in various jobs, then went to Germany to work in his 20s, married his German wife there, and lived with him until his death. They lived a happy life but struggled. We call people like our Uncle Mehmet "our sycamore". We lost a plane tree. He loved Turkey very much, that is, his hometown, and they did not fail to come to Turkey as a family every year until his health deteriorated recently. He started life alone as a child and became a plane tree. He was a man of universal mentality. God rest the soul.
